Our CityServe weekend challenges us to serve by making us more aware of the many ways God is at work in our city. Prepare to be inspired by those who are demonstrating His love and compassion to those in need of His mercy.

Banquet
Friday, September 24

Our guest speaker will be Rev. Rufus Smith who, until recently, has been the Senior Pastor at City of Refuge Church (EPC) in Houston, Texas, a church which has become one of Houston’s most celebrated interracial churches. He has recently accepted a position as Assistant Pastor for Preaching and Teaching at Hope Presbyterian Church in Memphis.

 

Churchwide Day of Service
Saturday, September 25

Saturday morning be prepared to do some work and pitch in at one of our ministry partner locations for our fourth annual Churchwide Day of Service. Take advantage of this opportunity to engage the community and learn about an under-resourced neighborhood in our city.   

Join up with your Congregational Community’s project, or download the full list of projects here.  You’re sure to find one that fits your talents!

Various locations around Memphis from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Sign up in your CC or through the MUSA office (454-0034 or ).

Nursery is available for Saturday morning for children 5 years old and under. You must register your child for nursery. Please pack a lunch for your child.

Day of Worship
Sunday, September 26

Rev. Richard Rieves, Pastor of Downtown Presbyterian Church, a 2PC Church Plant, will speak to us during Sunday worship. Prepare to be inspired and challenged as Richard shares with us his passion for our city.

Our ministry partners will join us as guest speakers in our Congregational Communities.

Sunday evening worship will be led by Rev. Sandy Willson, 2PC Senior Pastor.

CityServe Food Drive
During the weekend we will be collecting specified food items for the Memphis Food Bank and for the Neighborhood Christian Centers and specified household items for the Refugee Empowerment Program. More information will be forthcoming through Congregational Communities.
