Breaking Down The Walls

Breaking Down the Walls will explore how, as a church, we can take steps toward being an ethnically diverse body of believers. Classes are interactive and will include discussions about history, social justice, education, and reconciliation.

In 2015 during our church assessment, concerns were raised about how our church body fails to reflect the diversity of surrounding communities in Memphis. In order that 2PC might more fully reflect God’s multi-ethnic Church, The mission of Breaking Down the Walls is to encourage authentic, diverse relationships across ethnic and socioeconomic lines, both individually and corporately by:

  • Learning through an honest assessment of our past and present
  • Listening to each other’s stories
  • Lamenting through confession
  • Looking ahead to redemptive relationships
