Volunteer Ministries
God says you have been gifted for ministry to serve other people. Every Christian is a minister. That doesn’t mean every Christian is a pastor, rather minister. Anytime you’re using your talents and gifts to help others you’re ministering. In 2 Timothy 1:9 it tells us that, “He saved us for his holy work.” You are saved to serve. Why did God save you? So you could serve him.
You may be thinking, “How do I know what my ministry is?” You look at your talents, your gifts, and your abilities. You look at how God shaped you. God wants you to use those talents and gifts to help other people. Every time you do that, that’s called ministry: nothing fancy, scary, or supernatural about it. It’s just helping others (taken from daily devotional with Rick Warren). Here are some ways that you can use your talents and gifts to help others - minister.
Caring Ministry:
Our transportation ministry allows our seniors to stay independent and be active and we need drivers. Drive our church bus for church services on Sunday mornings or drive your car to help transport members to doctors appointments and to the grocery. This is a beautiful way to honor our seniors by serving them. Contact Gail Stevens at 454-0034, ext. 105
CityServe Explorers: March 2, 11:30am-1pm
Join us for the next CityServe Explorer field trip to visit Calvary Rescue Mission at 960 South Third St. Serve lunch to the homeless and hear from Brother Bob Freudiger, director of CRM, and learn how God uses this ministry to bring the homeless to Him. Meet at the church and ride the church van together. Contact Rebekah Carter at 454-0034, ext. 141 to sign up.
Children's Ministry:
Our precious nursery is looking for nursery helpers during the 8:15am and 11am services with our 3 year olds and down. If you have the gift of teaching, serving or a passion for children or you just care about the spiritual growth of our covenant children then please call Dylan Franklin and find out ways to become involved. 454-0034, ext. 173
On April 3 at 11am we will have our annual Easter Egg Hunt and we need volunteers. This is a fun, precious time where the children learn the story of Jesus resurrection and have fun too. Call Mandy Morse at 454-0034, ext 128 to hear more details.
