Worship: God with Us

"God Himself is with us: let us now adore Him,
And with awe appear before Him."

Doesn’t this text from 1729 still express the sentiment we should embrace each time we come into the presence of the Lord? Our Chancel Choir will sing all of the verses to this hymn as part of our worship this Lord’s day to set the tone of reverence and awe to which this hymn calls the corporate body of worshippers.

Praying for Memphis

One of the goals of CityServe 2011 is to encourage our members to be committed to praying for the well-being of our city. Pastor Ronnie Stevens says, “Prayer is not just preparation for great work, it is the great work.” Praying for our city is not only a privilege, but it is also a response to a command. Frances Thompson, a Mission Memphis Committee member recently described how she has been led to pray for our city and her observation of a growing movement of people committed to praying for our city.
