Second Presbyterian Church is steadfastly committed to training young people for Christian leadership, whether in their churches, businesses, communities or homes. These programs have far-reaching results, transforming our inner-city, our marketplace and our neighborhoods with the power of the Gospel.
LAUNCH is a ministry begun in the summer of 2014, designed to train and send out new pastors for Gospel ministry. Pastoral interns in the program take five seminary classes per year while they receive training and hands-on experience in all aspects of pastoral work, for a maximum of five years. They will then receive help launching into a church planting opportunity or a pastoral role in an existing church.
The Fellows Program is a nine-month Christian leadership development training program and internship for recent college graduates who seek to build Christ’s Kingdom in their future vocations.
Second Presbyterian Church is encouraging and equipping the next generation of community leaders in Memphis through NEXUS: A New Experience in Leadership. Utilizing a mentor/protégé relationship, NEXUS seeks to cultivate and duplicate principle-centered leaders to build a better community.
Second is home to the Memphis campus of Reformed Theological Seminary. RTS Memphis is an extension campus that offers courses to those interested in pursuing a seminary degree or simply developing their theological foundation.
