Key Initiatives
Second has taken a particular interest in the following key initiatives:
MCS Adopt-A-School
In 2005 Second adopted Berclair Elementary School through the Memphis City Schools' Adopt-A-School program. Many of our CCs have adopted a classroom and many of our members participate in volunteer tutoring and mentoring at the School.
In 2009 We released a document called "Blueprint for Adopting a School" to aid other churches and organizations who are interested in adopting a public school.

SuCasa/Esperanza
The more we learned about the Berclair neighborhood, the more we discovered ways to help our hispanic neighbors. SuCasa Ministries started by offering ESL classes, and soon developed Adult Bible Studies. in 2008 Comunidad Cristiana Esperanza began worshiping as Second's first spanish-speaking church plant.
