Immediate Volunteer Help Needed to Aid Local Flood Victims (UPDATED)

Severe storms and heavy flooding forced many people throughout the Midsouth to evacuate their homes and take cover at local shelters hosted by the Midsouth Red Cross.  Volunteers are desperately needed to assist the Red Cross in providing aid to flood victims.  Contact Susan Epperson at 626-8997 or for more information or if you would like to volunteer.

  • Volunteers are needed this week at the Red Cross Shelter at First Baptist Church,  5010 West Union Rd Millington, to work shifts noon to 6pm and midnight to 6am
  • The Red Cross needs volunteers Wednesday, May 5th, to hold buckets and collect money from motorists at Actions News 5 Station, 1960 Union Avenue.  You may volunteer for any period of time during these shifts:  5am-9am 9am-1pm & 1pm-6pm
  • Volunteers are needed to travel alongside Emergency Response Vehicles into neighborhoods to help distribute food and water to families returning to their homes.  You must contact Susan Epperson at 626-8997 if you are interested.
  • If you have clothes that you would like to donate, please bring them to First Baptist Church in Millington
  •  For those who would like to provide general help to flood victims, water and snacks may be brought to the Red Cross drop-off
