Second Conservatory of Music

The Second Conservatory of Music provides quality music education in a Christian environment for all ages and abilities.

As a ministry associated with the music department, our program is designed to build musical potential in preparation for future service in ministry, musical performance, and enjoyment.

The Conservatory is open to anyone who seeks to improve musical proficiency or enrich musical gifts. We are dedicated to providing quality music instruction by highly-qualified Christian teachers.

Individualized instruction is offered on a per-semester basis. All lessons will be given at Second Presbyterian Church and lesson times are arranged between instructor and student.

Private lessons are currently offered in the following disciplines:

  • Flute
  • Voice
  • Piano
  • Pipe Organ
  • Viola
  • Violin

    What Does it Cost?

    The Summer 2019 session begins June 3 and ends August 2.  Students may take a minimum of 4 lessons and a max of 6 lessons during this period.  The number of lessons will be determined by you and your teacher, prior to online payment.


    If you are a new student and need a referral for a teacher, please select “teacher needed” and our director, Christy Young, will contact you.  Registration fee for new students is 25.00.  This is an annual fee.

    Half hour lessons - 4 lessons - 110.00, 5 lessons - 137.50, 6 lessons - 165.00 
    45 minute lessons - 4 lessons - 166.00, 5 lessons - 207.50, 6 lessons - 249.00
    Hour long lessons - 4 lessons  - 220.00, 5 lessons – 275.00, 6 lessons - 330.00


    Payment of summer fee is due by full payment online by first lesson.  You may make additional payment arrangements by contacting the director, Christy Young.


    Our Fall 2019 term will begin August 12 and end November 22.  Registration will open the end of July.

    How Do I Register?

    Registration is available online.  There is a yearly registration fee of $25 (maximum of $50 per family). This helps to cover program expenses and other possible expenses for the year.
