COVID-19 Ministry Partner Needs

The following requests are updated as they come in. The last update was on August 13, 2020.

Mission Memphis Relief Priorities

Due to the coronavirus, our missional priorities are currently centered around getting relief to those distressed areas with the greatest needs. The partners listed at the top of our page are those currently engaged in meeting the emergency needs of our city in the broadest way possible (e.g. food distribution, or medical services). We ask that you please consider supporting their efforts.

STREETS Ministries: Virtual Education Volunteers Needed

Beginning August 31st, STREETS will be serving as a Virtual-learning Hub, that will provide a safe space for up to 80 students (40 at each location) to complete their virtual-education until Shelby County Schools resumes in-person learning.

Currently, they are looking for classroom monitors to support the students throughout the day. Volunteers might be asked to pass out breakfast/lunch to students or help them connect to their online classroom. Students will be engaged in online-learning the majority of the day, but might have 10-12 minutes between courses to stretch or use the restroom. Volunteers will also be asked to help monitor these times as well.

Volunteers can sign up for one (or more shifts) Monday-Thursday. Shifts at each location include:

Graham Heights Vance (Downtown)

7am-10am

7:30am-10:30am
10am-1pm 10:30am-1pm
1pm-2:30pm 1pm-3:30pm

Interested volunteers can sign up by filling out the volunteer application.

They are also looking for mentors for their Middle and High School Pathways program. Interested volunteers can visit the website for more information and sign up via this link

Protective Masks Project

Help meet the need for protective masks by serving in a few tangible ways. As many of you have seen on the news, several 2PC members are engaged in serving those on the front lines by making protective masks.

If you are interested in helping, please fill out this form to let the Domestic Outreach team know.

Here's a how-to video that explains how to make the masks:

Use This Card to Help a Neighbor If you are able, print a few flyers (pdf download here) and leave them on the front doors of houses in your neighborhood. This is a great way to serve those who live near you and might not be able to get to the grocery store or simply need someone to talk to by phone.
