Second Conservatory of Music

The Second Conservatory of Music provides quality music education in a Christian environment for all ages and abilities.

As a ministry associated with the music department, our program is designed to build musical potential in preparation for future service in ministry, musical performance, and enjoyment.

The Conservatory is open to anyone who seeks to improve musical proficiency or enrich musical gifts. We are dedicated to providing quality music instruction by highly-qualified Christian teachers.

Individualized instruction is offered on a per-semester basis. All lessons will be given at Second Presbyterian Church and lesson times are arranged between instructor and student.

Private lessons are currently offered in the following disciplines:

  • Flute
  • Voice
  • Piano
  • Pipe Organ
  • Viola
  • Violin
  • Cello
  • Guitar

What Does it Cost?

2020 Summer Conservatory lessons will be held from the week of June 1 to July 31. Dates and times are coordinated between individual teachers and students. Currently, music lessons are being taught virtually in accordance with social distancing guidelines from the mayor. Any changes will be subject to new guidelines from the city of Memphis.

Teachers will offer 6 lessons during this time, and will work out the days and times with their students.

Lesson prices for summer session:

  • Half hour lessons - 6 lessons - $165.00
  • 45-minute lessons - 6 lessons - $240.00
  • Hour long lessons - 6 lessons - $330.00

A $25.00 registration fee is required once a year. This is usually paid in the fall, unless a student begins at another time of year. 
Note:  Our Fall session will begin August 10.

How Do I Register?

Registration is available online.  There is a yearly registration fee of $25 (maximum of $50 per family). This helps to cover program expenses and other possible expenses for the year.
