Are my children able to stay with me during worship?
Yes! We welcome children to worship with their families in the sanctuary!
Worship Care: We also offer worship care for ages 5 and under for those who find it helpful for their family to participate in worship.
During the Service: We have a dedicated time where we invite children to join us on stage for an age accessible preview of the sermon. We also offer children's bulletins for various ages and stages to help kids connect with what their parents are learning.
Additional Support: We provide accessible worship space for families of older children who need more space and movement.
We welcome you to bring a small bag of quiet activities to help support your child during this time.
I'm interested in having my child baptized. What's the next step?
We would love to celebrate this important step of faith with your family! Contact Amber Tyree to learn more about infant baptism, find out when our next class is offered, and talk through the next steps. If your elementary child is interested in getting baptized, contact Sarah Logan-Song to learn more.
What support is available for my child with additional needs?
We want every child to feel welcomed and included at 2PC. If you have a child that may benefit from additional support in a typical ministry setting at 2PC, contact shine@2pc.org for more details about if additional support may be available to your child.
When do you have programming for kids?
We have regular programming for kids on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays! See below for more information.
Sunday:
- 8:15am Worship Care (5 & under): 3, 4, & 5 year olds will remain in sanctuary worship until the Word to the Children, then they may exit with their families to be escorted to the nursery.
- 9:45-10:45am Sunday School: Ages birth through 5th grade have Sunday School in individual classrooms.
- 6:00pm Sunday Night Worship: Worship Care is available for ages 5 and under.
Tuesday:
- 9:00-11:00am Overflow: For moms who are participating in Overflow Bible Study, our nursery is available during the study. Register for nursery here. Overflow meets September-November and January-April.
Wednesday:
- 6:15pm MidWeek
- Nursery is available for ages 2 and under.
- Children's Choir is available for 3 year olds to 1st grade in the Kid Zone.
- Connect is available for 2nd-5th graders in the Gym.
How can I sign up to serve?
From nursery during worship services and Sunday School to Connect on Wednesday nights and special events, it takes hundreds of volunteers each year to serve our youngest worshippers at Second.
There are a variety of ways to serve with our Children's Ministry—once a month, bi-monthly, every Sunday, and only for special events (VBS, Family Fun Night, etc.). We need Sunday School teachers, nursery desk workers, Connect discipleship leaders, and more, and we'd love to discuss the options with you!
