Christy Young
Director of Children's Music
Christy Young has taught music to all ages throughout the course of her career. She held the Director of Choirs position at Westminster Academy in Memphis, where her students participated in the Tennessee All South-West, All State and All National choirs. Mrs. Young’s school choirs won superior honors in various national competitions. Currently, she is Director of the Second Conservatory, and coordinates the Children’s Choir program. Christy is a member of the Second Presbyterian Chancel Choir. Additionally, she has performed as a soloist in the sanctuary choir, sung in various chamber choirs, and has performed as the Mezzo Soprano soloist in numerous oratorios at the church.
Mrs. Young is a graduate of the University of Mississippi holding Bachelor of Music Education and Master in Applied Voice degrees. Her husband, Keith Young, is a pharmacist. Christy and Keith have two daughters, Laura Young Oliver and Lizzie Young.
