Barton Kimbro

Assistant Pastor to Young Adults

Barton is from Memphis and graduated from the University of Mississippi. He received his MDiv from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and has been in the pastorate since 2009. At that point, Barton joined Second's staff as a pastoral intern. From 2010-2013 he served as the Campus Director of Campus Outreach at Rhodes College and as part-time pastor at Second. Starting in the summer of 2013, he began serving as the full-time Assistant Pastor to young adults.

On an off day, Barton loves to smoke delicious meats and watch the Cubs. When he's not cooking or cheering on his team, you might find him enjoying food at one of his favorite restaurants—Folk’s Folly or Krystal’s—likely with a slice of cheesecake. He’s also always up for a good TV show and could watch Foyle’s War and Psych on repeat. Barton and his wife, Sarah, were married in 2013 and have two sons, Elias and Caleb. Together, they enjoy building model airplanes—and sharing life with their 100-pound dog, Wrigley, who, according to Barton, has fully claimed Sarah’s heart.
