VBS 2011 Recap

Jun 07, 2011

Over 750 kids flocked to the 2PC campus during the week of June 6th for Vacation Bible School. Sandy Willson even made an appearance during the morning assembly and did his pastoral best to learn the famed “Pineapple dance.”

We have heard stories about a Teen Helper who decided to volunteer with us this week as a way to start bringing her parents to church for a first visit. Friendships are beginning to form and lemonade stands are springing up everywhere to raise money for our mission project.

The kids raised $6,165.00!!!!  This is enough money to purchase 14 wheelchairs - way to go!

VBS Mission Project

This year our VBS kids raised money to buy wheelchairs for A Friend at All Times, a ministry for special needs kids in Kazakhstan. Every summer, A Friend for All Times organizes a camp for OVER 50 children that don’t normally get to experience the freedoms that other children do. This includes many lifetime firsts, such as horseback riding, swimming, or simply getting out of the city.

New wheelchairs for these children will communicate to these kids that the body of Christ cares for them and wants them to feel God’s love in a highly tangible way!
