CityServe Sunday

Sunday, September 29, 2019

On CityServe Sunday, September 29, we will celebrate the ministry work being done around the city and thank our many ministry partners.

This year’s theme is "Love Your Neighbor." Honoring the work of our ministry partners in their various communities throughout Memphis allows us to celebrate what God is doing around our city as we encourage and pray for them.

Ultimately, we hope that CityServe Sunday provides a special opportunity to highlight the restoration and revitalization efforts happening in Memphis while calling more laborers from our congregation into the harvest field (Matthew 9:36-38).

This year we will be recognizing and praying for our ministry partners during our morning worship services. Between services, our ministry partners will have booths in the hall, where members will have the opportunity to learn more about various ministries and connect with them. Ministry partners will also be speaking to CCs during this hour.

Prayer books will be available that Sunday as well. These books will encourage congregational faithfulness in prayer as well as serve as a guide to learn how to pray strategically for our city. In the booklet, ministry partners will be organized according to the specific neighborhoods and communities in which they are engaged.

We long to see community transformation as shalom comes to reign in all the neighborhoods in Memphis. This will be an exciting Sunday that will help focus our hearts on our individual and congregational roles in pursuing shalom in the city — please join us!
