All Church Event
This year, CityServe will be September 26-27! Mark your calendar for this weekend as we give specific attention to the needs in our city and our Mission Memphis partners and consider how to be a part of God's kingdom coming in Memphis as it is in heaven.
Serve with us on saturday!
We're partnering with Alcy Ball Development Corporation and Neighborhood Christian Center for a morning of service from 9:00-11:00am! Adults, youth, and kids are all welcome!
- ADULTS can serve individually with either ministry partner.
- YOUTH will serve (individually or with a parent) at Alcy Ball
- CHILDREN birth - 5th grade can serve with their parents at NCC.
What are we doing?
- Alcy Ball Fence Construction, Brush Clean Up, and Block Party Prep: These YOUTH and ADULT volunteers will be working throughout the Alcy Ball neighborhood. Wear lightweight long sleeves, pants, close-toed shoes.
- NCC Cleaning and Sorting: These ADULTS (and CHILDREN) will be helping get NCC’s North Center in tip top shape. They will sort donated clothing, clean windows, perform yard maintenance, and clean out their newly acquired warehouse space.
- NCC BUILD Program: These ADULT volunteers will help NCC run a successful BUILD event for their middle and high school students. These fun Saturdays bring NCC students together for Bible study, games, creative activities, and lunch.
CityServe Sunday (9/26)
Morning Worship: Ministry Partners will join us in each 8:15 and 11:00am service, and Pastor Emeritus Sandy Willson will be our guest preacher.
Joint Sunday School Hour: We will gather in the Sanctuary from 9:45-10:45am to hear from Brian Lewis as he shares the vision and strategy of our Shalom approach. A small Ministry Partner panel will also share.
Evening Worship: The Choir Room will be leading our worship music for the night, and Sandy Willson will be preaching again. Ministry partners and sister churches are encouraged to join us as well. All are invited to the rehearsal at 4:30, and the service will start at 6:00pm.
What IS THE CHOIR ROOM?
- Put simply, it’s all of us! The Choir Room is a multi-ethnic, multi-generational, non-denominational family of singers and musicians where everyone has a voice as we praise the Lord together. Rather than being a choir made up of a set group of people, The Choir Room is anyone and everyone who shows up to sing! (Visit choirisback.com to learn more.)
- At 4:30pm on CityServe Sunday, September 27, members of 2PC and our local ministry partners, as well as friends and visitors from across our city, are invited to gather in the Sanctuary to rehearse together. No previous vocal, choral, or note-reading experience is required! Come ready to be united in community through the hope of the Gospel in song.
- Then, at 6:00, we’ll culminate the time by leading the evening worship service together.
Food & Resource Drive
Starting on CityServe Sunday, we will be collecting food and other supplies for the most vulnerable in our city. More details to come!
