Recreation

The mission of the Second Presbyterian Church Sport and Recreation Ministry is to glorify God and build His church by using sports, fitness, and recreational activities to provide an environment for Christian fellowship, personal evangelism, and service to our city.

Spring sports Season

SK-6th Soccer: For boys and girls between Senior Kindergarten and 6th grade. Teams will practice one night a week starting in the end of March (day/time determined by coach) and games will be on Saturdays, starting April 10, for a total of 6 games. This league will play 6v6 with a goalie and 12 player maximum on the roster.

PK and JK Soccer Soccer: For boys and girls that are in Pre Kindergarten (PK) and Junior Kindergarten (JK) beginning the week of April 5.
  • PK Boys–Tuesdays at 5pm
  • PK Girls–Thursdays at 5pm
  • JK Boys–Mondays at 5pm
  • JK Girls–Fridays at 5:45pm
They will get 6 sessions, but due to spring rain, the season may be more than 6 weeks. During the first two sessions the boys will rotate through “Skills and Drills” stations where they will get a good introduction to the basic skills and format of basketball. The remaining 4 sessions will be games against the other 2PC teams. Cleats are not required (tennis shoes are fine), but shin guards are mandatory! This league will play 4v4 with NO goalie.

1st and 2nd Baseball: Teams will practice one night a week starting in April (day/time determined by coach) and games will be spread out throughout the week starting in late April. We will play in the Parochial Athletic Association (PAA) against other teams in the Memphis area. This league will be COACH PITCH.
JK and SK T-Ball: For boys that are in Junior Kindergarten (JK) and Senior Kindergarten (SK). "Sessions" will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5pm for JK and 6pm for SK starting April 13. They will get 6 sessions, but due to spring rainouts (typically one per week), the season may be between 4 and 6 weeks long. During the first two sessions the boys will rotate through “Skills and Drills” stations where they will get a good introduction to the basic skills and format of basketball. The remaining 4 sessions will be games against the other 2PC teams. Cleats are not required (tennis shoes are fine). Your son will need his own glove and other equipment will be provided.

Team Roster Formation Info: ALL rosters will be created based off friend requests. Even though we spend lots of time and effort to create teams that are split off of the requests, you are NOT GUARANTEED to get your friend request(s).
