Theological Education & Discipleship
Virginia's highlight of this past year was the dramatic increase (doubled) in the number of students taking her theology course. In addition, a 10-year-long labor with others has produced a theological dictionary project this year. Virginia has also experienced the fallout of the pandemic with many of the churches she used to be able to work with forced underground it seems. Though Virginia is a national, she spent most of her life in a similarly cultured city in a neighboring region. Now she ministers in East Asia’s largest city which affords her some flexibility that is not available elsewhere in the country. She works with a wide range of “team” members from seminaries, lay leader discipleship programs, and local churches. Doing so, she can be a teacher and a missionary, speaking their language, knowing their culture, experiencing the same things they do.
Prayer Requests (Updated 7/31/24):
- Pray for the Lord to provide a new venue for her fall classes. The church where she was holding classes had their lease terminated so that option is no longer available.
- Pray for her health and physical strength. Pray that the Lord might use the chiropractor to relieve her neck pain and headaches.
- Pray for God’s grace and mercy for her mother who is no longer able to recognize Virginia or her family members. Pray for Virginia to have peace of mind as she leaves her mother in her sister-in-law’s care.
