Larry Brown
Malawi

Bible College Professor
Children: Carey
Larry has been with African Bible College and Christian Academy (ABC) in Lilongwe, Malawi, for over 30 years. He teaches courses in Missions, World History, and Church History. He is grateful to see graduates working in many areas of service throughout the country. ABC has a new Campus Director, and the Board of Directors has named a new President and CEO “Blessings Chibombo,” one of Larry’s former students. Each Christmas, Larry shares bibles at the Maula prison. He preaches at a local church and asks that we pray for the Lord to move in the hearts of the many young people there. He is grateful for the freedom to share the gospel in schools where scripture may be read and prayers lifted in the name of Jesus. He is concerned for the people of Malawi, who are affected by a devalued currency, food insecurity, and rising crime.
Prayer Requests (Updated 7/31/24):
- Pray for Carey, Larry’s son, to find the Lord’s direction in his life and to grow in spiritual maturity. Pray for discernment on whether Carey should return to the U.S. to find work as doing so in Malawi is difficult in the present economy.
- Pray for the people of Malawi, who are affected by a devalued currency, food insecurity, and rising crime.
- Pray for African Bible College and for the resources needed as their new president charts a fresh course. In a country which is among the poorest on the planet, it is hard for students to afford tuition.
