Genesis University Leadership

Steve and Marion served 30 years at African Bible College in Malawi where they were involved in Christian higher education, leadership development, curriculum design and administration. For the past five years, the Spencers have endeavored to launch Genesis University, a Christian liberal arts university in Cape Town, South Africa. Recently, Genesis University purchased a commercial building in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. In addition, they turned in the application to the government for accreditation for their first degree. While Genesis waits for government approval, they hope to begin offering “short courses” as early as April or May of 2024. The mission of Genesis University South Africa is to provide exceptional scholastic education that is both biblically centered and deeply practical, preparing students to lead and impact their communities, countries, and continent for Jesus Christ. 

Prayer Requests:

• Pray that the government of South Africa, Council of Higher Education, will approve and accredit their first-degree program. 
• Pray for wisdom for Steve, funds to renovate their new building, volunteers for short courses, future faculty and staff hires, and ultimately students to attend and develop as Christian leaders of Africa. 
• Pray for a vehicle for the Spencer family as they minister and travel in America.
