Nate grew up as a missionary kid in Germany. Anna Joy grew up as a missionary kid in Hong Kong and Singapore. Nate & AnnaJoy met on the first day of medical school in Alabama. In 2023, their calling to serve the Lord through medicine and discipleship in an international setting grew stronger. Through prayer, counsel with spiritual elders, and a vision trip during the summer of 2024, they felt God leading them to Mercy Medical Center Cambodia (MMCC), a small Christian hospital on the southern edge of Phnom Penh. Their ministry is twofold: minister to the physical and spiritual needs of patients in Cambodia and train local Christian doctors in medicine and in the Bible. The second arm of this work includes identifying the very few Christian medical students in Cambodia to offer them a position within their Christian Family Medicine residency program. Nate and Anna Joy have six children; their older two adopted children have already launched into adulthood.  

Prayer Requests

• Pray as they are actively support raising this year. They hope to book plane tickets by late spring!  

• Pray for the children as they navigate various transitions and say goodbye to their school and friends.  Pray also for their adjustment to a new environment, language, foods, and peer group.  

• Pray for favor as they apply for visas, medical licenses, and for housing in Cambodia.  Favor is also needed in the exit fromcurrent roles at Regional One Health and LeBonheur.
