Own Your Block in Alcy Ball
All Church Event
On Saturday September 20, come serve with our neighbors in Alcy Ball as we clear away blight, increase safety, and build community. There are two great ways to serve: brush removal OR volunteering at the health fair at Powerhouse Ministries on Norris:
- 8:30a-11:00a - Brush Removal and Clean Up - We have plenty of tools to lend out for this effort and would like for you to bring what you have, too. Comment with what tools you could bring for clearing brush. Recommended, but not required: gloves, glasses, pants, long sleeves, loppers, handsaws, chainsaw, weedeater, blower, flat shovel.
- 11:00a-12:30p - Health Fair at Powerhouse Ministries (1349 Norris Rd) - Help serve food, welcome neighbors, mix, mingle, and create relationships.
For either shift, you can park at Believe Memphis Academy (2230 Corry Road, 38106) and walk to your volunteer location. Parking lot is located at the corner of Corry and Mallory.
Below is the schedule for the day:
- 8:30: meet at Believe Memphis Academy (2230 Corry Road, 38106) for team assignments, prayer, and orientation.
- 9:00: Start at work sites!
- 11:00: Pack up, return tools
- 11:00-12:30: Serve food and fellowship with neighbors at Powerhouse Ministries Health Fair.
