Memphis Teacher Residency

Memphis Teacher Residency believes that educational inequality is one of the greatest social justice and civil rights issues in America today and that God calls His people to go into all the world to offer love and seek justice for all. MTR trains prospective teachers in a year- long residency model through graduate courses, classroom internship, and personalized coaching, with the grand vision of restored communities living with dignity in peace.

Get Involved

Invite a few residents each month to join you and your family for a home-cooked meal
Help an MTR teacher plan and prepare for holiday class parties during the year; volunteer as a Memphis Literacy Conference, held on the last Saturday of July
Help secure sponsors for the Memphis Literacy Conference
Tell your friends about MTR and bring them by for a visit
Host lunch at MTR for the residency class and join them for the meal
